Biomes O’ Plenty

Biomes O’ Plenty adds a whole range of new fantasy and realistic biomes to Minecraft. With more than 20 new biomes you certainly won’t get bored exploring! You’ll immediately notice a difference in the wide variety of new biomes to explore including several new and incredibly dense forests. You’ll never run out of wood resources with this mod!

Coniferous forests are now much more widely packed with massively tall trees that block out light for as far as you can explore them. You’ll see them in all variety of temperate zones like plains areas and snowy biomes and you may even come across actual redwood forests with even more massive trees to walk amongst.

There’s a variety of new jungles and and tropical forests as well.

You’ll even stumble across a bunch of new swampland forests like marshes and bogs and even wetlands to give you a more southern and humid atmosphere in much broader locations.

These biomes have many oddly shaped trees with very large roots to hold up strong in the soft ground they are growing from.

This mod also includes various desert forests that are seemingly devoid of all life like the wasteland. These can make for great apocalyptic worlds and can massively increase the difficulty for hardcore survival. And there are even lush deserts with more growth of desert climate plants and trees and even some new beach varieties. There’s a dune beach that’s filled with dune grass and sea oats.

There are several fungal based biomes that you’ll likely come across and are indeed a great resource for foraging for mushrooms. In one such biome you’ll find Mushroom Island that has fields of brown and red mushroom trees and the whole island is also filled with Mooshrooms!

Aside from biomes filled with trees, this mod also adds several fields and mountain ranges filled with all sorts of lavender flowers or lush tall grass. You may even find vast fields and highland mountain ranges with steep cliffs overlooking other valleys or bodies of water. There’s even some more surreal looking varieties like the Mystic Beach that is full of colorful, exotic blocks and trees along with lakes of purple water. It’s almost like walking into an alternate reality when you come from a biome that looks completely normal right next to this one!

And of course with the new wood types available you can customize your homes to match the new biomes or even just use them for accenting your current homes and structures.

The mod also adds many new items and blocks, the crafting recipes for which can be found on the Biomes O’ Plenty wiki.

You’ll need two additional APIs found here and here, and on versions prior to 1.18 you need to create a new world and set the world type to Biomes O’ Plenty. On versions 1.18 and above you’ll still need the Terrablender/GlitchCore APIs but you won’t need to create a new world type. Newer versions will automatically update all biomes with the new ones added with this mod!
