The Inventory Pets Mod puts adorable little animals in your inventory. They serve many different and useful purposes like giving you speed boosts, the ability to fly, and climbing up walls! So long as you have the pet in your hotbar, you will be able to utilize its abilities. There are currently 54 pets that you actually have to craft or they can be found hidden in chests all over. They each have their own unique attributes that you can take advantage of however you see fit. You will also need to have a food source in your inventory for these little guys so be sure to check the forum link or hover over each one to find out what foods they need and make sure you always have food with you or else they won’t be able to help you.
Once you craft or find them you just need to put them in your hotbar and be holding them to actively use them. One such adorable little guy is the spider that, as you can probably guess, will allow you to climb up walls and cliffs just as a spider normally would. This can help you scale impenetrable walls or simply help you out of a cave much quicker than many other methods.
The purpose for the pets is to lend you the abilities or protection from the mobs and animals they are based on. So for instance the Creeper pets will protect you from blasts as opposed to the normal Creeper causing those blasts but the pet will aid against all explosions as well. And Enderman pet will teleport you away when you’re low on health. Chicken pets will increase your speed, and Squid pets will give you water breathing plus you’ll be able to swim and see better underwater!
You can also craft utility pets like chests, anvils, and crafting tables. These are obviously different than the ones based on living mobs but they will grant the player the same benefits that their larger, inanimate, and much less adorable counterparts. Chest pets and Crafting table pets work like portable versions of their namesake. When you have one selected in your hotbar you can just right click and their menus will pop up. Now you can have a portable chest you can carry everywhere and be able to maximize your inventory storage at the same time. Because of how many of these inventory pets are available with this mod, the chest or double chest pet can prove to be very useful in storing any of the pets you’re not currently using. And with the crafting table pet you’ll be able to also right click it and have a crafting table absolutely anywhere you go!
The Anvil, on the other hand, is a great little friend to automatically repair the tools in your inventory for you. So if you have this smiling little chunk of hardened metal in your pocket, then you can have a little more security in the damage your tools are taking along your journey. It will slowly repair those tools in exchange for some delicious iron nuggets you give them.
Because your new pets will need to eat to survive and give you their abilities you’ll need to keep a stack of the pet’s desired food in your inventory and they’ll find it when they need it. This can overwhelm your inventory a bit but that’s where you’ll need to strategize when and which ones to use at any given time. You may need to combine a few of them to achieve certain feats and swap some out here and there when new or different tasks come about. All of the recipes to craft pets will have their food source as the top-center item as well so you’ll need to keep that item available to feed them.DownloadForumInstall Guide
