Fossils and Archeology Revival

There is a vast expansion of explorable territory in the Minecraft Universe but one thing is certainly missing. Dinosaurs. If you thought the existing mobs were unpredictable and hostile, then this mod will add even more to that list.

TRex

The Fossils and Archeology Revival mod not only adds the extinct creatures to the realm but adds so much more like fossils, eggs, ancient blocks and tools, as well as DNA and lab equipment. This mod adds everything you could ask for to build your very own Jurassic Park. What’s really neat is you can be a real archeologist and find fossils and DNA buried around your world just like our own. And to add to that, with the materials you’ve collected you can actually grow your own dinosaurs in a lab. The goal is to collect the fossils from fossil blocks. They look similar to stone blocks but when broken they reveal bones, relics or bio-fossils. Dinosaurs won’t naturally spawn in your world and the lab aspect is what literally brings them to life.

FossilBlock

The key to finding fossil blocks is simply paying attention to the stone blocks that look cracked and a bit out of place. They will be relatively rare to find just like any other ore but that is all part of the overall experience when playing with this mod. You get to be that much more like a real life archaeologist by either seeking out a lucrative dig site or simply stumbling on fossil rich stone blocks by chance. But once you do find any fossils or related items, you can craft an analyzer and culture vat to take your findings to the next crucial step.

The analyzer is key to identifying specifically which prehistoric animal those bones once belonged to and will generate either DNA or seeds of it. Then you will need the culture vat to take those seeds or DNA samples and turn them into a one of three options. If the process is successful, the culture vat will give you an animal egg or an embryo or if you placed any prehistoric plant findings then you will get a living prehistoric plant. These bio-fossils are the key to creation. They’ll need to be analyzed and they have a chance of producing Dino DNA but you can also bring to life other extinct animals like wooly mammoths and dodos!.

Lab

The animal eggs can simply be placed anywhere and will hatch after a given time but an embryo will need to be injected into certain mammals like pigs, cows or sheep. And in an otherwise unexpected outcome, that mammal will soon give birth to a prehistoric animal containing the DNA you just uncovered.

This mod is incredibly complex and well executed. In addition to fossils and DNA encased in solid stone, you might also come across some ancient relics and artifacts that can also be analyzed or simply used for your builds. There are plenty of ancient stone, wood, and glass blocks found in a variety of ruins and even ancient burial sites containing sarcophaguses or ceremonial statues. You might discover some long buried and forgotten tools that may come in handy if you decide to bring them back to life in their own way. This mod really just adds a new dynamic to the game that gives the player another adventure to accomplish and that much more to discover along the way. However, it’s strongly advised to check the Wiki for additional content and tutorials.

  1. Archaeology is misspelt and the word you’re really after is Palaeontology! Dinosaurs not civilisations P:

  2. Yeah, Othlon was correct; archaeology refers to the excavation and study of artifacts from ancient civilizations, and paleontology refers to the excavation and study of FOSSILS and ONLY fossils.

    • Well, actually the mod has items from ancient civilizations as well as fossils so Archeology “the study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains.” would still work in this situation.
